Our letter to you

Thank you so much for the opportunity to introduce ourselves and share more about our family. We hope our story will help you in making your choice.

We’ve been married for over 6 years and God has blessed us with each other as best friends and life partners. We’ve always known we wanted to grow our family, but have faced challenges that have limited our ability to do so naturally. Adoption has always been a norm in our lives as we grew up with friends and family that were adopted. When God led us to the decision to expand our family through adoption, we felt at peace and immediately knew it was the right step for our family.

The journey ahead is a big one, and we want you to know that, if you choose us, we are committed to providing your child with a life full of love, security, and support. Our hearts are open, and we are excited to embrace your child as our own. We value kindness, respect, and honesty, and we strive to make every day filled with warmth, laughter, and opportunities to grow. We are committed to providing all the tools and support they need to grow into a happy, healthy, and confident person.

As this process is also one of deep emotions, we want to assure you that we are here for you, no matter the path you choose. We respect your wishes, whatever they may be, and will always honor the decision that is best for you and your child. About Us

Our love story

In 2017, we met each other for the first time. Although we went to the same graduate school for almost 4 years, we didn’t meet until our last semester. Kelsey’s roommate and best friend was Steven’s classmate and introduced us at a party. We had an instant connection and knew each other were special. We even made plans to go to church together the following day and were inseparable since then! Nearly a year later, we got engaged, and then married the following year surrounded by our loved ones. We have been happily married for the past 6 years and excited to take the next step of growing our family. We both are Christian and allow God to lead our lives and marriage. Through the years, we have continued to learn so much about each other, and love one another more deeply by the day.

Kelsey is reserved at first, but once you get to know her, she’s funny and outgoing. She enjoys making people laugh and is known as a prankster by her friends and family. Kelsey is very compassionate and enjoys being involved in dog rescues and animal welfare. She also plans our family Christmas Olympics every year and loves hosting events. She is a loving, nurturing, and supportive wife, and would make an amazing mom.

Steven has a contagious laugh and outgoing personality that made Kelsey fall in love. Steven has the biggest heart and is so loyal to his loved ones. He is humble and always willing to lend a helping hand, and will never hesitate to support anyone in need. He’s always dreamed of being a dad and would love to teach his little one anything and everything.

What Makes Us Happy

During the week we work every day, but we still prioritize spending evenings together. Most evenings we go to the gym then make dinner together. A typical weekend includes going on a long walk with our dogs at the lake or nearby park, enjoying sunshine at the farmers market, or having brunch together. We often go to church with our family and have lunch together as well. We live nearby the city, so we love to attend events, such as concerts, shows, museums, and sports events.

One of our favorite things to do together is travel and explore new destinations. We love to immerse ourselves in different cultures and learn more about other parts of the world. One of our favorite travel memories was going to Japan together and feeding the wild deer in Nara! We usually plan at least one big trip per year and a few smaller trips to visit friends or family.

Our top priority is spending time with loved ones and enjoying the small moments in life. We look forward to the opportunity to continue creating memories and going on adventures with our future child!

Our Family

One of our favorite family traditions is at Christmas. We host the Christmas Olympics with our friends and family. We have Christmas dinner then play games and have a trophy as the grand prize! We would love to have our child join in the games and festivities.

Every year we go on a family trip with Steven’s parents and brother to a new destination. So far we’ve gone to Chicago, California, Texas, and Japan. We can’t wait to continue this tradition with the addition of our child!

Meet our Family and Friends

We are blessed to have a supportive community of family and friends. We both come from diverse families filled with different cultures and backgrounds. Most of Kelsey’s family lives close by and we frequently have family game nights, dinners, and weekend trips. Steven’s family often visits and we go on family trips at least once a year. All of our parents, siblings, and extended family are so excited for our growing family and can’t wait to be a part of our child’s life.

Kelsey’s family is from the Caribbean with a blend of cultures. Many members of her extended family are multiracial and have multiracial children as well. Steven is a mix of Japanese, Taiwanese, and German. Him and his family speak conversational Japanese and also have family members of mixed cultures.

Our closest friends are from college and graduate school. Many live in different states, but that doesn’t stop us from staying in touch. We’re grateful to have a community of friends that are always willing to visit us and we often make trips to visit them as well.

Our Home

Our home is located in a safe, gated community. We have 3 bedrooms and already have a room set up as a nursery. There’s a community greenspace and patio area right outside our home and a pool down the street as well. We are walking distance to an elementary school. Our neighborhood is friendly and welcoming. There are many diverse families and we often have community events, such as a fireworks show on July 4.

We are located just minutes away from the city where there a lot of kid-friendly activities, such as the science museum and movies in the park. We’re also close by a library and recreation center. There are several parks with playgrounds, soccer fields, and trails within walking distance to our home as well.
