About Us

Our Story

We met in 2016 in Denver, Colorado on an online dating app. For our first date we had chocolate cake and red wine and talked about our families, our favorite outdoor adventures and even how many kids we wanted! It was clear that we hit it off and we wanted to see more of each other. Over the next 6 years we went on countless adventures, spent a lot of time with each other’s families, and navigated how our lives could fit together for the long term. In February of 2022
Jared proposed and wedding preparations began! We were married on September 24, 2022 at our church in Denver, Colorado. Having all of our family and friends together was so special and something we will never forget! When we got married in 2022, we were ready to start a family immediately. However, life played out differently than we had hoped. During this time of struggling with infertility, we have felt God growing the idea of adoption in our hearts. The ups and downs of our infertility journey has strengthened us as a couple and continues to grow our desire to be parents.

A Little About Us

We truly enjoy each others company, so spending time together at home is often where you can find us! We love to sit in our rocking chairs on the porch, play with our pup Kaya in backyard, spend evenings grilling on the back patio or snuggle up on the couch to watch a movie. When we are out and about we can sometimes be found at our church attending a service or a social event. We have created such a special community of friends through our church, so much of our time is spent hanging out with them. Outside of that, we love to spend time outside. We head to the mountains to hike or camp as much as we can.

We also travel a lot to see both of our families. Every year we head to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina for a week-long vacation with Jared’s family over the 4th of July. This trip is full of time relaxing at the beach, mini golfing, go kart racing and fireworks! We also take a different trip each year with Meghan’s family that is focused on being in nature and soaking up all the best parts of summer – swimming, biking, fishing, and hiking. We rotate Thanksgiving and Christmas with each of our families and enjoy time relaxing and eating good food. Some of our favorite memories are made when we are together with our families!

No matter if we are enjoying time together at home or out on an adventure with friends or family, we know our lives will only get sweeter as we grow our family. We can’t wait to share all of these experiences with our little one.

Things We Enjoy Together

Walks in the neighborhood. We both work from home, so we often take walks during the day and also in the evenings to connect and get some fresh air.
Eating Dinner together. This is something we prioritize every evening and will continue to do this with our family as we grow.
Spending time at Church. Our faith is the foundation of everything we do. We attend church every Sunday and also frequent social gatherings and classes at our church.
Prioritizing time with our families. We are both very close with our families, so we intentionally plan the time to chat with them on the phone or take trips to visit them.
Spending time with friends. We love to go camping with friends, grab ice cream or hang out on the patio at a brewery.

Our Family

We are so excited to bring a sweet little one into our family and include them in all of our favorite holidays and traditions! Whether it be picking out the annual Christmas tree with Meghan’s family, playing for hours on end at the beach with Jared’s family or just snuggling up on grandma or grandpa’s lap to read a book, there will be no shortage of love and fun for them to be a part of.

Our Extended Family

We are both blessed to be very close with our families! Meghan grew up in Nebraska as one of four girls – Erin (36), Bridget (30) and Rosemary (24). Her sisters are truly her best friends! Meghan’s parents have always been the stable foundation of her life – they just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Her older sister and brother-in-law have 4 boys and they bring so much joy, chaos and fun to the family! Her parents, older sister, brother-in-law and nephews live in Nebraska, while her younger sisters live in Colorado and Iowa. Jared also grew up as one of four siblings, but he is the only boy – Suzanne (40), Brittany (38), and Ashton (36). He gladly claims the South as his birthplace and grew up in North Carolina and Georgia. His sister Brittany and brother-in-law have two children, one boy and one girl, who are always down for a nerf gun war, jump on the trampoline or movie marathon! Jared’s parents are both remarried – his mom and stepdad live in Georgia and his dad and stepmom live in North Carolina. All 3 of his sisters, brother-in-laws and niece and nephew live in North Carolina. Despite not living in the same place as most of our family, it is a high priority to get quality time with them. We stay in close contact with frequent texts, phone calls and FaceTimes. Outside of that we make many trips to visit them throughout the year. We love our families so much and they are all so excited to welcome a new little one!

1. We are both goofy and try not to take life too seriously
2. We are both crazy dog people – we will always have dogs for our children to grow up with!
3. Our faith is what directs everything in our lives
4. We are both very laid back and can have fun no matter what the plan is

Our Home

We live in a three bedroom, two bathroom home in a peaceful, family-oriented neighborhood. Some of our favorite moments happen right at home – relaxing together on the front porch, tossing the ball to our pup Kaya in the backyard, or spending evenings grilling and enjoying the fresh air on the back patio. Our neighborhood also offers so many simple joys, from afternoons at the park to walks for coffee, ice cream, or a meal together. At the end of the day, we love to curl up on the couch and chat or watch a good movie. Our home is full of love, connection, and the kind of everyday happiness we can’t wait to share!
