We are Aaron and Alyssa!

Hi! It’s so nice to meet you!

Hello! We are Aaron, Alyssa, and Adeline! We are so thankful you are willing to spend a little time getting to know us! We have been married for over a decade now. We are incredibly blessed to be part of the adoption community. It has shaped our lives in the most beautiful ways. Aaron’s brother and sister-in-law have adopted two children, and we have several other friends who have adopted or were adopted themselves.

Before we were married, we talked a lot about how we felt God put it on our hearts to grow our family in this way. While we did go through several years of fertility treatment, we always knew adoption was in our future. Adeline joined our family through adoption almost three years ago! We are so blessed to be able to love on her as she grows up. She is the best part of our lives and know she will be the best big sister! We are so excited to grow our family again through adoption!

Aaron and I both have siblings. We are close to both of our families and enjoy watching Addie play with her cousins. It is our prayer for Addie to be able to have a sibling. She loves being around other kids. We know she is ready to be a big sister. It is one of our greatest desires to have a home full of love and to hear little voices giggling and having fun.

We enjoy cozy nights at home, spending time with our friends and family, and taking walks in the park. We love going to the beach and finding new adventures and places to go! We want to show our children the world and let them experience all it has to offer.

We understand this time is incredibly challenging, and we want you to know we are praying for you. We pray for your heart and all the emotions you are experiencing. We are praying for your child, and all that their future holds. We may not know you, but we love you. We truly believe that God has you in His hands and is there to comfort and protect you.

About Us

Our Story

Aaron and I met in early 2013. I was living in Nashville, TN at the time, and Aaron was living there for a few months while he took a sound engineering course at Dark Horse Studios. He visited a few different churches before he walked into mine. I saw him the first week he was there, but it took three weeks before we got the chance to meet. We instantly became friends. We stayed friends over the next year and started dating late in 2014. Most of our dating was long distance. It didn’t take us long to figure out we were in it for life. He got married in 2015 and have enjoyed almost 11 beautiful years of marriage with a lifetime more on the horizon.

Aaron
Aaron is a banker with an agronomy degree from Texas A&M. His family ran a nursery for over 100 years, so he grew up running in and out of rows of plants and flowers. His favorite hobby is recording and mixing music. He is very talented and has a great ear. He runs sound for and sings in a southern gospel quartet that his dad started with friends over 50 years ago. I love listening to him sing!
Aaron is kind, thoughtful, and hilarious! He is a wonderful husband and even better father. Adeline loves her daddy with her whole heart. He doesn’t take himself too seriously. He is always ready to make people laugh. But while enjoys humor he takes his faith very seriously. He is consistent and unwavering in his belief in God. He is the greatest partner I could have ever asked for.

Alyssa
Alyssa is a kindergarten teacher. She loves children and cares for all of her students (past and present) greatly. Her students enter her class as students and leave as part of her family. While she loves teaching her favorite title is Mama! She loves spending time with their daughter, Adeline. They enjoy making art projects together, letting Addie help her cook breakfast, and dancing in the living room together.
Alyssa is patient and kind. She is gentle and speaks to others lovingly. She cares a lot about how she makes those around her feel. She is creative, and enjoys doing various kinds of art. Alyssa has recently gotten into taking long walks and strength training. She enjoys the new challenge and seeing how far she go.

Time Together

Aaron and I are truly best friends! We love spending time together. Most of our down time is spent playing with our daughter and hanging out at home. Aaron is always making Addie and I laugh! We love to go on spontaneous trips and drive roads we’ve never been on before. We are big fans of finding new restaurants when we are on vacation. One of our favorite things to do is go to the zoo! All three of us love watching animals and exploring the zoo. We like to visit zoos or an aquarium when we are in a new place.

Aaron and I love spending time with our daughter, but we make sure to go on dates and spend time together as just the two of us. We love each other very much and enjoy each other’s company. We are each other’s support system. Aaron is a huge encourager to me. He is a wonderful provider for our family and does his best to lead us with the love of the Lord. We are both pretty patient with each other. We make it a priority to show Addie how much we care for and respect each other.

Our Family

We go to the beach every year. This trip has changed over the years. Aaron’s family has been going since he was a kid. We continued the tradition after we got married, and then after Addie was born. While the things we do change with each addition to our family change, the fun and memories are always wonderful.
We enjoy going to look at Christmas lights every year. We try to make a big deal the night we put our Christmas tree up as well.

Our family and friends

We are very close to both side of our family. My family lives in Missouri, but we see them several times a year. I have two sisters. We are so blessed to have one niece and another little one on the way! Aaron’s family live in the same town as us. His mom watches Addie every afternoon after preschool. Aaron has one brother. We have one nephew and two nieces on this side of the family. We spend as much time with family as we can! We have a sold group of friends who live near us as well. We spend a lot of time together and are so grateful for all the good times and support they have given us over the years. They all have kids, so of course it is always a lot of fun when we are together. Some of our friends go to church with us and others are coworkers, but they have all become more like family. We are incredibly blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives!

Our Home

Our home

We live in a 3 bedroom house in a rural community. Our home is warm and cozy. Our daughter is 3 so our house is always full of laughter, toys, music. We love to record songs in our living room, and have movie nights on the couch. We have a large backyard with two big oak trees that provide lots of shade for summer play time. We live on a plot of family land so there is a lot of space to explore. We have deer and many other kinds of wildlife that move through our property. It’s a great place to learn about wildlife!
We live close to several parks and playgrounds. Our friends down the road from us have horses and let Addie ride them quite often. We love our little community!
