Hello!
We are Jessica and Andy from Texas. We are so excited and honored you are considering us to be the adoptive parents of your baby. We know this must be the most difficult decision you have ever been faced with, and we cannot imagine what you must be feeling. We are so impressed with your courage and strength. Making an adoption plan for your baby is the most selfless act you can ever do, and it is an amazing testament of the type of wonderful woman you must be and the love you must have for your child.
We have been happily married for 9 years. We found each other a little later in life (Jessica was 26 and Andy was 27) and have continued to actively choose each other everyday since. We are both from Georgia, but have come to love Texas just as much if not a little more. We have an amazing support system and loving families. We love doing big trips together, as well as the everyday mundane tasks. We have a 10 year old German Shorthaired Pointer named Pepper, who loves to bathe in the sun of our backyard or snuggle up in our laps.
We have always dreamed about being parents and having a child to raise in a loving home! Like many people, we assumed when we were ready, it would happen for us. Instead, we have struggled through 5 years of infertility. We prayed for God’s plan to be revealed to us, regarding continuing fertility treatments or pursing adoption. We found a moment of clarity on a random Saturday night while watching a movie. Since making this decision, we have discovered a renewed excitement about growing our family

About Us

The Story of Us

We met through a mutual friend working at Jessica’s elementary school. We had actually gone to the same college for several years and ran in the same circles but never met. At the time we were introduced, Andy was living 3 hours away from Jessica. About 6 months after we started dating, Andy got a job half-way across the country. Andy told his mom that he just knew the relationship wouldn’t last the distance. We think that the distance actually strengthened our relationship and helped us to build a solid foundation of trust with one another.
Andy proposed to Jessica at her elementary school in 2015. He got her principal and assistant principals in on the proposal as well. She thought she was being fired after being called to the principal’s office but ended up engaged instead. In 2016, we were married in Savannah, Georgia in a church built by Andy’s grandfather and great-grandfather. We were blessed to be surrounded by family and friends. Jessica’ dad surprised us by swapping out our cake topper for Woody from Toy Story (Jessica’s sister’s nickname for Andy) and Snow White (Jessica’s favorite Disney Princess).
Jessica is a Teacher for the Visually Impaired and also the Director of Remote Assistive Technology Services for an educational management company. Growing up, her mom was a Speech Therapist and Jessica used to “teach” her dolls and stuffed animals. Jessica graduated from college with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood/Special Education. She taught for 9 years in Special Education before going back to school to support students with visual impairments. Since 2020, Jessica has been teaching remotely, supporting students in high need areas.
Andy is a Field Superintendent for a Top 5 Healthcare Contractor. Growing up, his dad worked in building material sales. Andy started building docks in Georgia while he was still in high school. After college graduation with a degree in Construction Management, he began working full-time building custom homes. He has been with his current company for over 10 years, building mostly hospitals.

Together is Better

We have been married for almost 10 years. We are each other’s best friend and enjoy being together. During the week, we enjoy cooking together and sharing about our day. We also enjoy watching NCIS, Landman, and Scorpion. On weekends, during football season, you can find us cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs at home or at local restaurants. When football isn’t on, we enjoy exploring new places, searching for old treasures in antique stores, and buying local from the farmer’s market. Andy enjoys grilling out or smoking BBQ, while Jessica enjoys playing host to friends and family. We also enjoy going to local sporting events, such as minor league baseball games, hockey games, and rodeos.

We like to spend long weekends taking short trips to explore areas around where we live and meeting new people. We enjoy renting airbnbs, going to bed and breakfasts, or camping. We have been blessed to be able to live in various parts of the country and enjoy exploring areas we might not have had the opportunity to visit. Recently, we have gotten to explore Cloudcroft and Ruidoso in New Mexico, as well as Austin, Houston, and Galveston in Texas. In each area, we explored local restaurants and coffee shops, went fishing, searched for antiques, and supported local farmer’s markets.

Our Family

Every Christmas, Jessica’s family gets together to celebrate the birth of Christ with a live nativity. On Christmas Eve, they exchange one gift – an ornament that reflects that year. We celebrate new additions to the family by having them play baby Jesus in the nativity. Additionally, our child would be given an ornament on Christmas Eve that highlights the previous year.

Our Village

We are blessed with the biggest and most loving village of family and friends. Jessica comes from a large family with over 50 family members. She has 1 brother and 2 sisters. They love getting together as much as possible and always eating big meals. Her family has a group text message where they stay in constant contact, even though they are spread out across the United States. Andy’s family is small but mighty. There is never a shortage of love to go around. Although they don’t live close, they are always willing to jump in and help each other out, like cleaning up after storm damage. Andy’s Mema, Mom, and Aunt love to make holidays and birthdays big with lots of party planning. We’ve heard it said that friends are the family you get to choose with your heart. We are blessed with the greatest friends who are more like family. They will all give the shirt off their back and have been an integral part of our support system throughout our infertility and now our adoption journeys. We have lived in several states and have made lifelong friends in each of them.

Our Home

Our Cozy Corner of the World

We live in an up and coming neighborhood with a neighborhood school. Jessica has always dreamed of being able to walk our children to school. Our neighborhood is full of children of all ages with a playground, pool, and soccer field only a few houses away. Our house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, just waiting to turn one into a nursery. We have a large green backyard where our dog loves to run and we enjoy grilling out and relaxing at night or on weekends.
