Hello! We are Tania and Dan

Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little about us! We want you to know how deeply we respect the strength, love, and thoughtfulness it takes to consider adoption. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to introduce ourselves and to share a bit about our hearts, our family, and the life we hope to offer a child.

We are parents to a wonderful daughter who was born in 2023 and has filled our lives with more joy than we ever imagined. Family is the most important thing in our lives; we both grew up with siblings we remain very close to, and those relationships shaped who we are today. Because of medical reasons, we are unable to grow our family through pregnancy again, but our desire to raise another child and to give our daughter a sibling is strong and deeply rooted in love.

Adoption feels like a natural and meaningful way for us to grow our family. We believe family is built through love, commitment, and presence, and we are ready to offer a home filled with warmth, stability, laughter, and encouragement. We are committed to raising children who feel safe, supported, and confident in who they are, and who always know they are deeply loved.

We also understand that adoption is a lifelong journey built on respect and honesty. We are committed to honoring a child’s story and the role you play in it, and to ensuring that they always know how much love went into this decision. Whatever path you choose, we wish you peace and clarity, and we are grateful for your time and consideration.

About Us

Our Story

We met in Washington DC in 2013 while attending grad school. From our very first conversation, we felt a deep connection, and that spark quickly grew into something lasting. We supported each other through our studies and early careers, eventually marrying in 2018. We moved to Austin, Texas in 2016 and then to Dallas, Texas in 2022 to be closer to Tania’s family.

Tania was born in Peru and moved to the Dallas area when she was young. She is extremely close with her family, especially her younger sister. Tania works at Meta as a Product Risk Manager, helping to develop virtual reality gaming experiences.

Born and raised in upstate New York, Dan is the middle child of two brothers who are his closest friends. We are fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with his family, especially during holidays and the summer when we go to his family’s lake house in the Adirondack Mountains. For work, Dan manages real estate for a federal job training program for youth, and he is proud of the service his work provides.

Our Life Together

We have been married for nearly 10 years and have experienced many adventures during that time. But our greatest joy is our family. You can usually find us at the local park which we can walk to from our home, or the local library. Our dog Rocky is happy and playful.

A Few of Our Favorite Things

Family: We are both very lucky to have large extended families and are close with our siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, tías, tíos, cousins and primos!
Traveling: From South America to the Mediterranean, we love exploring new places and sharing adventures together.
Being Outdoors: Hiking, swimming, visiting parks, or spending summers at Dan’s family lake house in the Adirondacks.
Art & Music: Tania paints, Dan discovers new music, and Lucia dances to anything with a beat! Dan also collects art by local and international artists.
Creating in the Kitchen: We cook together as a family, especially on homemade bread days! Tania is always trying new recipes in addition to cooking delicious dishes from her native Peru.

Our Family

Tania was born in Peru and is a native Spanish speaker, while Dan studied Spanish for many years in school + college and is close to fluent. Our daughter is being raised to be bilingual which is important to us as a way to connect with Tania’s heritage and family.
Travel is an important aspects of our lives; we love to meet new people, experience new cultures, and try new foods. We have been fortunate to travel across the world and can’t wait to experience new adventures.

Family is Everything

We are both very close with our families; they are a constant source of love, support, and fun! Dan’s family is in upstate New York where, in addition to his brothers, he has many cousins and other extended family, including a niece who is close to our daughter’s age. We visit his family often at his parent’s charming home in the small town where Dan grew up. Dan has many friends here whom he has been close to since being young, so there is always plenty to do when we visit! We also travel often with his family; recent trips include Ireland, North Carolina, Vermont, and Florida! Dan’s parents own a travel planning business so travel has always been an important part of his life. Tania’s family lives close by in the Dallas area and we are grateful to be able to spend so much time with them (Dan is especially grateful for the incredible Peruvian food her dad cooks!). Tania also has a strong network of friends in the area whom she grew up with and remains close to.

Things to Know About Us

1. We are best friends! We do our best to support each other through our careers, hobbies, and as a parenting team.
2. We are both very proud of the success we’ve had in our careers, but family is the most important thing in our lives.
3. We love to travel and seek new experiences.
4. Becoming parents has been the most rewarding experience of our lives! We are truly blessed and grateful.
5. Tania is a native Spanish speaker while Dan is nearly fluent, and it’s important to us that our children are bilingual.

Our Home

Home Sweet Home

We have a beautiful modern house with four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and two living areas – lots of room to spread out and big, bright windows. One of the living areas is a playroom that overlooks a creek. Our yard is about a third of an acre, and it backs right up to a greenbelt and peaceful creek. We recently planted a pollinator garden and we love watching the butterflies, bees and birds from our deck – it’s like having our own little slice of nature in the city!

We live in a great neighborhood. We are walking distance to a hiking trail, several neighborhood parks, a soccer field and tennis courts. We’re at the park practically every day. We are also a short drive away from a library, a beautiful lake, and arboretum. Our neighborhood feels like a real community and we are so grateful for the friends we have made while being part of the neighborhood parents group that organizes fun kid events like a Christmas crawl, Halloween party, and Easter egg hunt.
