We want to start by thanking you for taking the time to learn more about us and our family. We can only imagine the incredible strength and selflessness it takes to consider adoption for your child and we deeply respect and honor the difficult decision you are facing.

If we are lucky enough to be chosen as adoptive parents, we will honor your child’s story, their heritage, and the incredibly important role you play in their life. Your child will always know where they came from and how deeply they were loved from the very beginning by us and by you.

We are committed to building an open and respectful relationship between us all, in whatever way feels right to you. No matter what you decide, we wish you peace and clarity as you move forward. We know that the choice of adoption is rooted in pure love and connection, and we are ready to walk this journey with open arms and open hearts.

About Us

This Is Us

We met at a time when neither of us was fully expecting love, but God knew exactly what we needed. Through friendship, laughter, and honest conversations, we built a deep connection. Our relationship is rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a desire to build a life and a family founded on our shared faith.

We’ve been married for just over three years now, and throughout life’s challenges, we’ve learned to lean on each other, to hold space for sorrow and for hope, and to find beauty even in the unexpected turns. We now stand in a place of deep gratitude for each other, for the life we’ve built together, and for the opportunity to grow our family through adoption.

Our Life Together

We truly value time as a family. Whether it’s cooking meals together, playing games at home, or taking weekend adventures, we try to make the most of our time with each other. Holidays and family traditions are a big deal in our home too. We love decorating for the seasons, celebrating birthdays with extra joy, and creating unique traditions that we hope our children will remember forever.

We have two core sayings in our family: “You only get so many sunsets” and “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” Both remind us to focus on what truly matters because life is so short and precious. These simple phrases help ground us and encourage us to be present with each other. They remind us to lead with kindness, forgiveness, and an open heart every day.

Our biggest hope is to build a family rooted in love, laughter, and belonging. We want our home to be a place where our kids feel safe to be exactly who they are and know that they’re unconditionally loved. Whether it’s adding another child through adoption (and hopefully a dog someday!) or simply soaking up the everyday moments with the one already in our arms, our plan is always to keep showing up for each other and for our family.

Our Favorite Things

When the weather is nice, we walk to the local park and let our son play on the playground
We attend local events, like concerts or farmer’s markets, with neighbors and friends
We love to cuddle up together and watch a movie on the couch, especially on a rainy day
We cook and eat dinner together as often as we can
We like to bake, for ourselves and as gifts to our friends and family
We decorate and celebrate any and every holiday, especially birthdays
We like to travel and try to take a family trip once or twice a year

Our Family

We see our families multiple times a week, since they live so close. This child would be surrounded by the love and support of an amazing extended family. If ever we need help with childcare, we are so blessed to be able to rely on our close family members.

We also take bi-annual trips to the beach in Seaside, Florida, with Maddie’s family and annual family reunions with Joey’s family at a local lake lodge. We love being able to travel with our extended family!

Family is a Blessing

We are so blessed to have an amazing, close-knit extended family on both sides. They all live close by (all within a 10-minute drive!), and we get to see them weekly, usually multiple times a week. They have been so supportive of our decision to adopt, and I know they will help carry us through the highs and lows of this journey ahead. Joey’s parents are Julie (JuJu) and Joe (PawPaw). Joey’s oldest brother, John, is married to Emily, and they have three kids: Francis (5), Julia (3), and Michael (newborn baby). Joey’s brother, Tom, is engaged to his long-time girlfriend Lucy and they are expecting their first child in February. Maddie’s parents are DeeDee (GiGi) and Tom (Pops). Maddie has two sisters: Caitlin and Emma. Caitlin is married to Mitch and they have one daughter, Olive (3). Her sister, Emma, is married to Nik and they have one son, Tommy (1).

Things to Know About Us

1. We make sure to prioritize time with each other as husband and wife.
2. We both agree that becoming parents has been the greatest joy of our lives.
3. We started as friends first, and that helped us build a strong, loving, respectful relationship.

Our Home

Our Home in the Midwest

We truly love where we live. Our community feels like home, and we plan to stay here, even if we move into a new house. It’s the kind of place where neighbors wave and kids play in each other’s yards. We’ve built strong relationships here with friends, family, schools, and our church, and we feel incredibly grateful to raise our family in this place.

We love living in the suburbs of the Midwest. Our city is filled with rich diversity and a proud history. We have great sports teams with dedicated fans, lots of amazing family-owned restaurants, and plenty of places we can take our son to keep him entertained. Our local community is very supportive of one another and always uplifts its residents. There are frequent, free local events like concerts and farmers’ markets that we love to attend. We both grew up in the area and always knew this was where we would want to raise our family one day.
