About Us

A Modern Love Story

We have a modern love story, one that started on a dating app, hah! Juan had recently moved cities to help care for his mother who suffered from a stroke due to a brain aneurysm. He moved in the spring, and we met at the beginning of summer. It was definitely meant to be since we probably would not have met due to living in different cities. Our love of Boston Terrier pups is what brought us together initially, then we quickly realized that we were each other’s person. We dated for almost 2 years before getting engaged. Juan proposed at Tina’s favorite place- the beach, surrounded by family! We were married in 2023 in a beautiful Catholic Church that is over 150 years old. Our wedding anniversary date is extra special since we share it with Tina’s maternal grandparents. It was a truly special day for us and for our families.

Juan is active duty in the Texas National Guard and is a combat veteran having served this country in Afghanistan. Juan has been in the military for 15 years and loves being a part of it. He considers himself a protector, not just of his wife, but other family members and members in our community as well.

Tina is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Certified Lactation Counselor. She has worked with children for over 16 years and has worked with many children of a variety of ages and diagnoses. Her passion is working with pregnant Moms and babies, especially when it comes to lactation and feeding therapy. She currently works as a Clinical Manager for a pediatric home health company and manages a team of speech, occupational and physical therapists.

Our Family

One of our favorite family traditions is Christmas cookie decorating. Tina’s Mom (Granny to her grandchildren) has all the grandchildren over to her house before Christmas, and they make and decorate Christmas cookies. This is a tradition that Tina did as a child and she looks forward to doing this with her own children. Her oldest nephew, Jackson, is about to be 20 years old and he still loves going to Granny’s house to make cookies!

Our Home

Our Home

We bought our first home together in 2023 soon after we were married. We have worked hard to make this house a home. We were blessed to be able to renovate the whole house to ensure longevity of important things like plumbing and a big kitchen where we get to make meals together and feed our families. One of Tina’s favorite colors is green, so there is some type of green in each room of the house.

We live in a quiet neighborhood and have great neighbors of all ages. Our street is on a cul-de-sac, so there is literally no traffic! It is quiet and safe, so we always have children riding their bikes and neighbors walking their dogs. Our backyard is spacious with room for any kind of play equipment for a child to enjoy. Currently, our dogs Finn and Charlie enjoy the space to run around and play with their toys. Our house has four bedrooms with two and half bathrooms. Two of those guestrooms could be turned into a nursery and eventually a child’s room.

Tina enjoys decorating the house for various holidays and seasons. Our fireplace is the focal point of our den, and we love to have it decorated to give the room a cozy feel. Tina works from home, so one of the bedrooms has been turned into an office. This is also where she likes to sit and read her books when not working. One of the other guestrooms is where Juan likes to relax and play his video games (when he has time of course). We are looking forward to decorating one of those guestrooms for our future child. Our home is our sanctuary, and we do our best to keep it filled with love and joy.

Final Thoughts

Thank You

We wanted to say thank you for taking the time to get to know us better through this profile. We want you to know that we promise to love and cherish your baby if we are chosen as adoptive parents. We truly have so much love to give and are so excited to be on this journey. We are praying that you make the decision that is best for you and your precious baby. We understand the enormity of this decision and know you have to follow your heart. Wherever that may lead. God has a path for all of us. With love, Juan and Tina
