Hello, nice to meet you.

We are Corey and Janie, and along with our son Jesse, we are excited to share a little about our family. We’ve been married for eight years and are active in our home church. We love spending time with our family, church family, and neighbors by hosting backyard movie nights, park days, and traveling together. We both grew up in busy, multi-sibling homes that welcomed friends and family, shaping our shared love for connection.

From the beginning, we dreamed of building a family. Two years into our marriage, we learned getting pregnant or carrying full-term would be challenging. Through prayer and the support of our community, we sought to understand God’s plan for our family. In 2021, we were pregnant and welcomed Jesse through a high risk pregnancy. Being on bedrest from 12.5 weeks to 35.5 weeks (when he was born) was a challenging journey both mentally and spiritually but it deeply strengthened our faith and our marriage.

As we considered growing our family, it became clear that we would have another high-risk, bedridden pregnancy. With a toddler at home, we didn’t feel like this is the right path for us. Through prayer, honest conversations, and learning from families who have adopted, we grieved our original dream and opened our hearts to new dreams God has for our family. Today, with open hearts and excitement, we are pursuing adoption and look forward to welcoming a child and, if desired, their birth parents into our lives. It is an honor to love a child whose birth parents have made such a brave and loving decision and one we plan to honor. Our hope and desire is that he/she will always know they are deeply loved, chosen, and valued from the beginning.

About Us

Our story

In 2014, we both attended a church night event. Janie showed up with zero expectations and Corey volunteered… then wasted no time messaging Janie on Facebook. One conversation turned into many, and pretty soon we were talking about faith, family, and the future. We bonded over travel, concerts, game nights, and sports—so date nights were easy (and never boring). We’re goofy together, laugh a lot, and our shared faith made dreaming about the future exciting. Corey was never shy to ask the bold questions but always came from a place of understanding. Three years later, in 2017, we said “I do” in Fort Worth with our favorite people around us. Our nieces and nephews were part of the day—and honestly, they might’ve had the most fun of anyone.

Corey is adventurous, silly and has a big heart. His kindness and ability to navigate many different friendships with care, truth and love was one of the things that attracted Janie to Corey. All these years later, it still happens. Corey is romantic but if you ask him, he says no. Him showing up with “just because flowers” was a sweet detail that made it special and he is now teaching our son to have the same care. He loves meeting new people, finding out about them and making them laugh and smile. He tries to always look at the brighter side of life, stay positive and encourage others. He loves laughing, being outside, trying new things and exploring. He works in information technology sales and this allows him to learn about many cool technologies but also have the flexibility to be fully engaged with our family. A few of his current hobbies include: reading, working out, playing games with Janie and Jesse and the occasional video game with Jesse.

Janie is a quiet, sweet, and deeply caring person with a natural gift for empathy. She values relationships, family, and community, and loves showing up for people in both joyful and hard moments. She works for a non-profit serving those in need, and her heart for helping others is a big part of who she is. Janie is also a thoughtful planner who pays attention to the little details, which keeps our family grounded and prepared. At home, she loves spending time with Jesse and Corey—playing games, watching movies, and being silly together. Seeing Janie as a mom has been one of the most beautiful things in my life. She pours her whole heart into our family and has a special gift for making children feel safe, loved, and valued.

*I work for a technology company from home- this allows me to maximize playtime with Janie and Jesse
*I love to help others- I currently volunteer in Prison Ministry alongside a few men from our church
*I played football in school & helped coach little league sports for 10 yrs- for now I enjoy watching my son learn and play sports
*I enjoy camping, cooking, playing hide and seek and going to parks- really anything that involves having fun and being outdoors
*I am a savory over sweets kind of guy
*My favorite moments are with family: doing silly things like playing pretend games, building forts, reading a favorite book, trying something new or traveling to new places

Life Together

We have been married for eight years and together for eleven (and yes—we still make time to date each other). We love doing life side by side and sharing everyday moments, big adventures, and lots of laughs. Travel, good food, concerts, and sports are some of our favorite things, and we’re always up for trying something new—like parasailing! We also love cheering each other on in our individual interests (roller coasters for Corey-he loves thrilling activities).

We love hosting friends for fun get-togethers and spending time with our families. We try to take a couple of trips each year and have fun slowly checking things off our travel bucket list. At home, we’re big fans of family movie nights—complete with a popcorn bar or treat bar—and taking turns picking what we watch (which definitely leads to some funny debates). One of our favorite traditions started our first year of marriage: doing puzzles together. Now we love that our son is into them too and enjoys tackling more challenging ones with us. Finding family puzzles with big and small pieces mixed together has been a win for everyone. We’re also a board game family—Don’t Wake Daddy, Chickapiglets, and matching cards are current favorites in our house. When the weather is nice, you’ll usually find us outside—walking the neighborhood, playing in the yard and cul-de-sac, or heading to the park with scooters and fishing poles. We enjoy being together and soaking up the sunshine.

Our faith is a big part of who we are and how we try to live as a family. We grow in our faith through worship music, Bible study, church, community group, and prayer. Even though we had different faith journeys growing up, we both have a strong Christian relationship with the Lord and are intentional about continuing to grow. We hope to create a home where our children feel deeply loved and supported, are encouraged to grow in their own relationship with the Lord, and learn to lean on His promises in every season of life—a home where it’s safe to ask questions, laugh a lot, and feel fully known and cherished.

Our Family

We look forward to welcoming our child into all of our favorite traditions with love and joy. We cherish traditions of every size, knowing the smallest moments often mean the most to a child. Each day we eat and pray together, read bedtime books, and share about our day. We celebrate holidays with family costumes at Halloween, Christmas with both sides of the family, Easter with a piñata, trips with extended family, and birthdays —including Corey’s NYE birthday celebration with friends.

Thankful For Our Village

Family, friendships, and community are at the heart of who we are. We truly believe it takes a village to raise a child, and we are incredibly grateful for the one surrounding us. As Uncle Corey and Auntie Janie, we have seen firsthand how meaningful a strong, supportive circle can be, and we are thankful for the love and encouragement woven into our lives. Janie’s family lives in San Antonio. Her parents live just minutes from her sister and her family, as well as her brother and his family. Janie’s mom helps with childcare and school pickups, since everyone lives so close. We make it a priority to visit several times a year and love hosting them when they come our way. Whether we’re celebrating Christmas, birthdays, floating the river in New Braunfels, strolling the River Walk, swimming, BBQing, or bowling at Pinstack, time together is always full of laughter and connection. Jesse especially loves seeing his grandparents and cousins. Corey’s family is here in DFW, and we live just five minutes from his parents in the home where he grew up. His sister and her family live nearby, and his brother and family are about 45 minutes away, but we make time to gather often. We attend the same church, share Sunday lunches when we can, celebrate birthdays, and plan family outings throughout the year. We feel deeply blessed by the unique relationships we each have within our families. Beyond family, we have built strong community connections. Our neighborhood group includes five families with kids around the same age. It’s special to watch them grow up together while learning from one another’s different cultures and experiences. We share movie nights, playdates, birthday parties, and spontaneous gatherings. Our church community group includes seven families, and many of the kids are in the same class. They see each other weekly and love reminding us of upcoming get-togethers. These friendships continue to grow through shared meals, outings, and intentional time together. We are also thankful for longtime friends we lovingly call “framily” because they truly feel like family. Some are in the same stage of life, while others offer wisdom and encouragement from seasons they’ve already walked through. We are intentional about the people we surround ourselves with and strive to cultivate a community that builds one another up. Our hope is to provide a loving, supportive, and joy-filled village where our children feel safe, known and deeply loved.

At the end of the day, our commitment to each other comes from our faith. We’re a team, and we fight to stay a team. We believe that a strong, healthy marriage creates a home where our kids feel deeply loved, supported, and know their value comes from God.

Our Happy Place

Our home is nestled in a welcoming, family-friendly neighborhood that feels safe and peaceful. We’re lucky to live on a quiet corner lot with plenty of space for kids to play, neighbors to wave hello, and family and friends to gather for celebrations, outdoor movies, and countless memories yet to be made. The long side driveway is perfect for chalk art, water balloons, learning to shoot hoops, or other fun outdoor activities. Our cul-de-sac is not busy, so kids can enjoy being outside—riding bikes or scooters, or playing on the front yard swing.

We’re in a community with high-ranked schools that make learning and growth a priority, while still being close to stores, restaurants, and everyday conveniences. Several parks are just a 5–10 minute drive away—perfect for picnics, playground adventures, and outings with family and friends. Inside, we’ve created a space that is cozy, inviting, and full of love—a place where family and friends naturally gather. There are comfortable spots for quiet reading, board games, and shared meals. We have room to host larger celebrations as well as smaller gatherings where we can connect and truly catch up.

Welcoming neighbors, open green spaces, and a shared desire for our kids to grow up as friends are just some of the things that make this house feel like home. Our neighborhood community is growing, and we love sharing our space for fun activities for the kids and meaningful connection for us as parents. Our hope is that this home becomes a place where our children can laugh, grow, and create lasting memories with family and friends—a space where love and joy are always at the center.
