Our Love Story
We met in the city of Chicago, and from the very beginning, everything just felt easy. Our first date was at Bub City, a BBQ restaurant in the city with live country music. It didn’t take long for us to realize there was something special there. Conversation came naturally, we were constantly laughing, and by the end of the night, we both knew we wanted to see each other again.
As we continued dating, it became clear how aligned we were in what we wanted out of life. We share the same core values—faith, kindness, and family—and those have been the foundation of our relationship ever since. Katrina is outgoing, energetic, and loves bringing people together, while Dane is more laid-back, incredibly loyal, and always knows how to make people feel comfortable. He also keeps things fun with his goofy personality, and together we balance each other really well.
Over the years, our relationship has only grown stronger, especially through the challenges we’ve faced. We’ve learned how to support each other, communicate, and stay grounded in what matters most. At the end of the day, we’re best friends who truly love doing life together, and we feel so excited about everything ahead—especially the opportunity to become parents.
Our Family
Traditions are a big part of our lives. Christmas is especially special—Santa always comes, and it’s a day full of excitement and great food! On Easter, we go to church and then spend the day with family. We also love Super Bowl Sunday, where we grill and have a potluck with friends and family. We’re excited to include a child in these moments and so many others.

We feel so lucky to have a home that feels like a five-star resort! Our apartment has a stunning skyline view, and each evening we’re treated to beautiful sunsets that make you pause and appreciate the moment. One of the things we love most about our home is that everything we need is right inside our building. There’s a full Lifetime Fitness, a rooftop pool, three whirlpools, a sauna, steam room, and a spa—all available without ever stepping outside. For dining and everyday needs, we have four restaurants, a coffee shop, and even a Whole Foods grocery store, all conveniently located within the building. We love our home because it’s not just beautiful—it’s a place where family and friends can gather, play, and create memories. We look forward to sharing this incredible space with a child one day.
In addition to our home, our neighborhood gives us access to so many fun and enriching experiences for a child. We are just steps away from beautiful parks, museums, the lakefront, beaches, zoos, aquariums, and endless family-friendly activities throughout the city. We love that our future child will grow up surrounded by opportunities to explore, learn, play, and experience new and exciting adventures right outside our front door.
